BP: makes fresh gas find offshore Trinidad.
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has said that it has made two significant gas discoveries with two exploration wells, offshore Trinidad, having unlocked approximately 2 trillion cubic feet of gas.
The first well was drilled in water depths of over 500 feet, approximately 80 kilometres off the south-east coast of Trinidad, BP said.
While the energy company expects to develop these reservoirs via future tieback to a platform that is due to come online mid-2017, the second discovery is expected to support a new platform within the post-2020 timeframe.
