Rio Tinto: memorandum of understanding for Serbian project.
(CercleFinance.com) - Rio Tinto has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Serbia for the implementation of the Jadar Project, one of the largest lithium deposits in the world.
The draft document will enable the formation of joint working groups between the government and the company to progress the project through the study and permit phases, the miner said.
The project is currently in the middle of the study stages with operation expected to commence in 2023.
