BAE Systems: partnership in electric aircraft
(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems has announced a collaboration with Swedish electric aircraft manufacturer Heart Aerospace to develop the battery system for Heart's ES-30 regional electric aircraft.
The battery will be the first of its kind to be integrated into a conventional electric take-off and landing (eCTOL) regional aircraft. It will enable the aircraft to operate efficiently, with zero emissions and low noise.
BAE says the ES-30 will be powered by four electric motors and will have an all-electric range of 200 kilometres, an extended reserve hybrid range of 400 kilometres with 30 passengers and the ability to fly up to 800 kilometres with 25 passengers.
