Voltalia: Canudos 1-2 wind farm operational
(CercleFinance.com) - Renewable energy group Voltalia has announced that its Canudos 1-2 wind farm in the Brazilian state of Bahia has begun producing its first megawatt hours, now injecting electricity into the grid.
The project, initially announced as a 90-megawatt wind farm, has been extended to 99.4 megawatts. It is backed by a 20-year electricity sales contract with CEMIG, a major Brazilian utility group.
Canudos 1-2 has 28 wind turbines, a collector substation, a switchyard and a 500kV transmission line. The entire project was developed and is owned by Voltalia.
