Getlink: to offer new rail service under Channel
(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink has announced Evolyn's decision to launch a new high-speed rail service through the Channel Tunnel to link London and continental Europe, confirming the growth potential of the cross-Channel passenger rail market.
The tunnel and rail networks that connect to it have been designed to handle over 20 million high-speed cross-Channel passengers a year, which is almost double the current level, It says.
Managed by Getlink through its subsidiary Eurotunnel, the Channel Tunnel enablrs all rail operators to travel between the British and European networks, guaranteeing them an equitable right of access defined by the RUC (Railway Usage Contract).
