ADP: towards a merger between GIL and GAL
(CercleFinance.com) - Aéroports de Paris (ADP) has announced a framework agreement with GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd (GIL), its partner in the airport holding company GMR Airports Ltd (GAL), initiating a process that should lead to a merger between GIL and GAL in H1 2024.
The proposed merger will make the French airport group the shareholder of an airport holding company listed on the Indian financial markets, as envisaged when it acquired its stake in GAL in 2020.
This transaction will simplify the capital structure of the airport assets, make the shares held by ADP liquid and help the new GIL to seize new opportunities in India and South East Asia.
