EDF: partnership with Shell in wind farm in New Jersey
(CercleFinance.com) - EDF Renouvelables in North America and Shell New Energies have announced that they have formed a 50/50 joint venture called Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind for the development of the OCS-0499 site located in the New Jersey wind power zone.
The area covered by the lease issued by the US federal authorities has a potential for offshore wind energy production of approximately 2,500 MW, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of nearly one million households.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and a final investment decision. It participates in EDF's CAP 2030 strategy, which aims to double its renewable capacities between 2015 and 2030 to reach 50 GW net worldwide.
