Eutelsat: successful launch of Eutelsat 7C satellite
(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat Communications confirms that it has successfully launched its Eutelsat 7C satellite, which was launched at 23:43 CET from the Kourou space center in French Guiana aboard an Ariane 5 rocket.
It is set to be commercially commissioned at the end of the year.
Manufactured by Maxar Technologies and featuring 49 Ku-band transponders equivalent to 36 Mhz, Eutelsat 7C is a powerful satellite that is intended for the video markets in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Turkey.
Replacing Eutelsat 7A, which will be redeployed to another orbital position, this new satellite will be co-positioned at 7° East with Eutelsat 7B, which will increase the capacity available at this orbital position by 19 transponders.
