Alstom: wins regional train contract in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced a contract worth around 100 million euros to manufacture, deliver and maintain, until 2032, eleven Coradia Continental battery-electric regional trains for the Leipzig-Chemnitz line in eastern Germany.
The French railway equipment supplier specifies that these Coradia Continental trains will be similar to those already in service on the lines of Dresden, Riesa and Zwickau, but will also be fitted with high performance batteries installed on the roof.
With this contract, the group says, "Following this order, Alstom offers all types of traction systems on the market as well as the full range of emission-free drives, from efficient electric motors to hydrogen fuel cells and advanced battery traction".
