Alstom: contract for 25 regional trains in Bavaria
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that it has signed a contract with Bayerische Oberlandbahn GmbH for the supply of 25 Coradia Lint regional trains.
From the summer of 2020, these trains, which will be built on the site of Salzgitter (Lower Saxony), will operate in the Bavarian Oberland.
The Coradia Lint train can travel at a speed of up to 140 km/h, carrying up to 158 seated passengers and 12 bicycles. All trains are equipped with plugs for laptops and electronic devices, a passenger information system and CCTV.
Coradia Lint trains have been travelling on over 30 networks in Germany, Europe and Canada since 2000. At present, more than 2,800 Coradia trains have been sold, and almost 2,300 trains are in operation.
