Alstom: meeting convened ahead of merger with Siemens
(CercleFinance.com) - Today Alstom has said that it has convened a combined general meeting at 2 pm on 17 July, in preparation for its planned merger with Siemens' mobility business (including its rail traction division).
Indeed, the project is taking shape: on 28 May the Ministry of the Economy and Finance gave Siemens its approval under the decree relating to foreign investments in France. The next day, the French financial markets authority (Autorité des Marchés Financiers; AMF) granted Siemens an unconditional exemption from the mandatory filing of a tender offer after the completion of the contribution of its mobility business, subject to different conditions.
"These authorizations are key milestones in the proposed combination," Alstom said.
