Renault: could change CEO
(CercleFinance.com) - Jean-Dominique Senard is expected to propose that the next board of directors meeting on 18 October replaces Thierry Bolloré as Renault's CEO, according to Le Figaro this morning.
This change at the top of Renault would be backed by the French State, Le Figaro says.
Nissan yesterday announced the appointment of Makoto Uchida as its CEO. The board has also appointed Ashwani Gupta, who is currently COO of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, as Executive Director and COO of Nissan, while Jun Seki, was appointed vice-CEO. These appointments are not good news for Thierry Bolloré, formerly Carlos Ghosn's right-hand man, Aurel BGC says this morning.
Renault's CEO appears to have little contact with the Japanese side and appears to have tense relations with Jean-Dominique Senard. Bercy would also encourage Renault to turn the Ghosn page once and for all, Aurel BGC analysts add.
