Renault: alliance backed by both ministers of the economy
(CercleFinance.com) - In a statement on Thursday evening, Hiroshige Sekō, the Japanese minister of the Economy, Trade and industry, and Bruno Le Mairr, the French Minister of the Economy and Finance, have confirmed their desire not to see the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance threatened by "The Carlos Ghosn affair".
Regarding the alliance formed between Renault and Nissan, both ministers exchanged their viewpoints and information on the situation. They reinstated what they said on 20 November 2018 in a common press release, i.e. the strong backing from the French and Japanese governments behind the alliance formed between Renault and Nissan and their shared desire to maintain this winning cooperation, Bercy said in a statement.
A bit earlier in the day, according to the Japanese television channel NHK, Nissan's board of directors unanimously decided to dismiss Carlos Ghosn from his post of board chairman.
