Société Générale: to experiment biometric card
(CercleFinance.com) - Société Générale announced on Thursday that it is testing a biometric bank card that incorporates a fingerprint sensor.
This card enables people to pay without contact with greater security, with an unlimited amount. It usually works for other operations (payment with contact, withdrawals, online payments, etc.).
Société Générale, which already in November 2016 launched the first credit card that had a dynamic visual cryptogram said, "In practical terms, on receipt of the card the cardholder records his fingerprint himself in the biometric card. The fingerprint is verified directly on the card. No element linked to this fingerprint is transmitted to the merchant or to the bank."
