Vinci: doubles railway line in Guinea
(CercleFinance.com) - Sogea-Satom (Vinci Construction International Network) and ETF (Eurovia), are currently working on a project to (partially) double the railway line between Kamsar and Sangarédi, in the west of the country in Guinea Conakry.
While the Sogea-Satom teams have completed the earthworks, last March the ETF teams started railway works and the laying of 37 km of tracks on new sections, the group said.
Improving the existing infrastructure will enable mining operators to eventually export an additional 24 million tonnes of bauxite per year through this corridor, bringing the total capacity to 40 million tonnes per year, Vinci added.
