Saint-Gobain: two acquisitions in Portugal
(CercleFinance.com) - Saint-Gobain has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the Portuguese companies Fibroplac and Falper.
Fibroplac is well known in the Portuguese market for its high quality plasterboard production while Falper has distinguished itself for developing an advanced digital solution for the design and production of lightweight steel structures.
With combined sales of about 15 million euros and 75 employees, these two acquisitions will strengthen and accelerate Saint-Gobain's strong growth in Portugal, where the French group operates 10 plants, a technical development centre in Aveiro, and employs over 650 people.
These acquisitions are in line with the Group's "Grow & Impact" strategy, which has been successfully implemented in Portugal to strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable construction.
The completion of these transactions is subject to approval from the competition authorities.
