Veolia: signs contract in Uzbekistan
(CercleFinance.com) - The city of Tashkent has awarded Veolia a 30-year contract to operate, maintain and manage the district heating network in the city of Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
This is the first contract that Veolia has won in the country.
Veolia will be in charge of its operation, which will generate revenues of 13.4 billion euros over 30 years.
With over 2.5 million inhabitants, Tashkent is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It has the largest heating network, which provides almost half of the city's population of 1.2 million with heating and hot water, it said.
