Veolia: contract for wastewater treatment in Kuwait

(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia announces that Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) has just awarded it a contract for the operation and maintenance of its wastewater treatment plant at the Al Zour refinery in southern Kuwait.


This petrochemicals complex, whcih is currently under development and is one of the largest in the world, will have a production capacity of 615,000 barrels per day as soon as it is commissioned, bringing Kuwait's refining capacity to over 1.5 million barrels per day.

This 63 million dollar contract for Veolia, which will last seven years, will use its expertise in managing complex facilities to optimise water treatment and recycling. It aims to reach zero liquid discharge (ZLD).
