Veolia: signs new contract with city of Paris
(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia has announced the renewal of a household waste collection contract in the 11th and 19th arrondissements of Paris.
This contract is worth 50 million euros over a period of 3 years - and may be renewed for another three years, subject to conditions.
By 2020, the contract will generate 30kg of biowaste per capita in the 11th and 19th arrondissements. Veolia is therefore supporting the City of Paris in its "zero waste" strategy, which is taking an additional step in selective sorting with the collection of food waste.
The heat recovered during the biogas methanisation will then be transformed into green electricity or compost.
