Veolia: contract renewed in Rouen

(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia has announced the renewal of its contract with the SMEDAR (Syndicat Mixte d'Elimination des Déchets du Rouen) relating to the operation of the VESTA waste processing unit in Rouen for a period of six and a half years.
The contract is worth 116 million euros.

This new market includes the operational optimisation of the plant and the provision of control tools to SMEDAR, which will let it control a unit that is now an integral part of the territorial energy mix.

VESTA has the capacity to receive and process up to 325,000 tonnes of household and similar waste collected regionally. This waste generates up to 180 GWh/year of electrical energy, of which 125 GWh/year is sold to the French electricity grid.
