Peugeot: sets up a common procurement platform
(CercleFinance.com) - Groupe PSA has announced that a new organisation, which will bring together the purchasing and quality of supplier relations of Peugeot/Citroën/DS (PCD) and Opel/Vauxhall (OV), will be operational from January 2018.
The aim is to increase the car maker's efficiency and purchasing power, improving its competitiveness. Over the long term, 30% of the synergies expected from the PSA Group's integration of OV will come from purchases.
Relations with suppliers will be simplified, with the establishment of single contacts for suppliers with significant business volumes. The new entity will have an annual purchase volume of 38.8 billion euros in Europe.
