Thales: digital twin project for floods
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, Thales and Leonardo's joint venture, announces that it is leading an initiative in Luxembourg to validate a digital twin concept for flood prediction, a project funded by Luxembourg via a European Space Agency contract.
Thales Alenia Space's Digital Center of Excellence in Luxembourg and its partners intend to demonstrate the benefits of a digital twin of the Earth to better predict and estimate the impact of floods, and take appropriate preventive measures.
Digital twins are being developed to enable a wide variety of users to study the effects of climate change on different components of the Earth system, and to assess possible adaptation and mitigation strategies.
