Thales: chosen by ESA with startup 3IPK
(CercleFinance.com) - The startup 3IPK and Thales Alenia Space have been selected by the European Space Agency (ESA), as part of the FutureEO program, to develop a solution to manage the traceability and integrity of Earth observation data using blockchain technology.
ESA has selected the start-up 3IPK to integrate blockchain technology into the Earth observation data processing chain. 3IPK and Thales Alenia Space will develop a cybersecurity solution aimed at preserving the traceability and integrity of this data, by providing it with immutable digital fingerprints.
This will enable players in the processing chain to identify the origin of this data with complete confidence, thereby strengthening their ability to counter the growing threat of falsified satellite images. A first version of this solution will be delivered to ESA in the first half of 2024, it said.
