Thales: reinforced partnership with Dutch Army
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales and the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) are strengthening their partnership by providing the Netherlands with a System Life Extension Programme (SLEP) that will benefit 13 ILS (an instrument landing system that ensures approach accuracy and landing safety) and DME (a system that guides aircraft en route and on approach) devices.
This comprehensive modernisation program will enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of the ILS/DME systems, guaranteeing accurate landings for military and civil aircraft even in adverse weather conditions, and in compliance with NATO safety requirements.
The lifespan of the 13 ILS/DME systems concerned will be extended to at least 2035, by replacing ILS and DME components that could impact the operation of the systems due to their age.
Thales will also provide operational maintenance and support services to ensure maximum availability over the next 12 years.
