Thales: delivers three stations to Egyptian National Railway
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced that it has delivered three new stations to Egypt National Railways (ENR), in Tanta, Al Ousayrat and Sedfa.
All these stations are part of the rail corridor project linking Alexandria to Aswan via Cairo. Thales is still working to complete the stations in Alexandria and Cairo.
This line's entry into service will have a significant impact on ENR's operations and on the passenger experience. Specifically, the design speed of the trains will increase from 140 to 160 km/h. Similarly, the reduction in maintenance costs will have an impact on the life cycle cost of the systems.
