Thales: participating in OPENQKD research project
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced its active participation in the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) consortium in the European OPENQKD research project, which will install quantum communication test infrastructures in several European countries.
This project aims to strengthen the security of critical applications in telecommunications, finance, healthcare, electricity supply and utilities, and enable networking of quantum computers.
In this project, Thales will provide quantum cryptography (QKD) compatible encryption equipment for terrestrial networks, while defining the spatial component of a quantum communication network.
