Thales: wins contract with Jamaican Defense
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced a contract to provide the Jamaican Defense Force with several Coast Watcher 100 surveillance radars, electro-optical sensors, radios and a control center, as part of an ambitious maritime surveillance program.
The Coast Watcher 100 long-range radar, designed to operate 24 hours a day in total autonomy, has optimal detection and tracking capabilities for fast targets operating in harsh environments, in addition to low-flying targets.
This project illustrates the strategic partnership between Thales and Jamaica, which has already entrusted the group to secure airspace with radar and ATC control centers, as well as provide ground security with Bushmaster armored vehicles.
