TotalEnergies: acquires Quadra Energy in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces that it has signed agreements with the Aloys Wobben Foundation (AWS) to acquire the entire share capital of the German company Quadra Energy, which has a 9 GW virtual power plant.
An aggregator of renewable electricity production in Germany, Quadra Energy purchased the output of around 5,000 wind and solar farms in 2022, and sold 14 TWh on wholesale markets and to German resellers and customers.
This acquisition, which is subject to approval by the relevant authorities, will enable TotalEnergies to strengthen its Integrated Power activities in Germany, the largest electricity market in Europe with the strongest growth in renewable energies.
