TotalEnergies: wind power contract awarded in New York

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announced on Wednesday that it has won a 25-year contract to supply renewable electricity in New York State.

The French energy group said it had been selected, along with its partners Corio and Rise, for a project totaling 1.4 GW of capacity.

Attentive Energy One, the joint venture owned by TotalEnergies (40%), Rise (35%) and Corio (25%), won a tender for offshore renewable energy credits organized by the New York State Energy and Research Development Agency (NYSERDA).

It also provides for $300m in investments in multiple local development projects in the state via the transformation of the Ravenswood gas-fired power plant, owned by Rise, into a green energy hub.

The consortium's aims to commission the project in 2029.

Last year, TotalEnergies was awarded 100% of the OCS-A 0538 marine concession in the New York Bight auction.
