TotalEnergies: progress in Candian oil sands sale
(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces that TotalEnergies EP Canada Ltd has completed the sale, to ConocoPhillips, of a 50% stake in the Surmont oil sands asset, together with certain associated logistical obligations.
The transactioncs effective date is 1 April 2023. Including price adjustments, TotalEnergies received a cash payment at closing of 3.7bn CAD (approximately $2.75bn).
TotalEnergies has also signed an agreement to sell all of the shares of TotalEnergies EP Canada Ltd. to Suncor, representing its other Canadian upstream assets, for 1.47bn CAD, to be completed by the end of 2023.
