Total: Saft equips A320 planes with Skyzen Batteries
(CercleFinance.com) - Saft, a subsidiary of Total, says that its new Skyzen batteries are now equipping every single-aisle plane of the Airbus A320 family, which will enable operators to reduce their total battery ownership cost.
Representing the latest development of Saft's ULM range of nickel-based aviation batteries, they offer a combination that will typically extend the interval between maintenance operations from 1000 to 2000 hours.
Since the summer of 2018, the Airbus A320 single-aisle aircraft have been equipped with two 28Ah Skyzen rechargeable batteries to ensure the safe and reliable take-off of the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and emergency power supply of vital systems.
