Total: partnership with Shell and Statoil in Norway.

(CercleFinance.com) - The three oil giants Shell, Statoil and Total have signed a partnership agreement to develop a CO2 storage project on the Norwegian continental shelf, we learned at lunchtime on Monday.

This program is part of the initiatives taken by the Norwegian authorities to develop C02 capture and storage on an industrial scale in the country.

"In June, Gassnova awarded Statoil the contract for the first phase of the project. Norske Shell and Total E&P Norge are now entering as equal partners while Statoil will lead the project. All the partners will contribute people, experience, and financial support," Total said.
