Carrefour: acquires 172 stores in Spain
(CercleFinance.com) - Carrefour has announced an agreement to acquire 172 convenience stores and supermarkets under the Supersol banner in Spain, most of which are found in Andalucia and the Madrid region, for an enterprise value of 78 million euros.
The acquired stores generated net sales of approximately 450 million euros in 2019. Carrefour is thus reinforcing its position in Spain by diversifying its customer base and strengthening its presence in growth formats.
This acquisition will also contribute to the development of food e-commerce, as the stores will eventually become new order collection points. The transaction is subject to customary conditions and is set to be completed in early 2021.
