Carrefour: beefs up partnership with Uber Eats
(CercleFinance.com) - Carrefour announced on Monday that it is going to strengthen its partnership with Uber Eats, Uber's home meal delivery platform, by signing an agreement for the delivery of groceries outside Ile-de-France.
The leadng French mass market retailer says that it has agreed with Uber's subsidiary on exclusivity for the development of shopping delivery in 30 minutes throughout France.
Carrefour customers in Paris and its suburbs have already been able to order their food shopping from the Uber Eats platform since 6 April.
The service is now offered from 330 sales outlets in 91 urban areas, which already covers 25% of the French population.
Both companies also intend to accelerate their partnership internationally, since, after France and Taiwan, Belgium will become the third country to benefit from the service, which will be operational in Brussels and Liège from September.
