Air Liquide: hydrogen joint venture in Korea
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Air Liquide announced the signing of a strategic alliance with Lotte Chemical to deploy a hydrogen supply chain in South Korea.
Both partners plan to create a joint venture, which will be 60% controlled by Air Liquide, to invest in two large-scale hydrogen conditioning centres based in Daesan and Ulsa.
Air Liquide Korea and Lotte say they anticipate "significant" synergies contributing to the emergence of a hydrogen economy in Korea, where demand for hydrogen for mobility is expected to reach 100 tonnes per day by 2025, and over 1,000 tonnes per day by 2030.
