Air Liquide: EPS edges up in first half

8% at 2.29 euros for the first six months of 2020, with an operating margin of 17.6%, up 100 basis points (+50 basis points excluding energy effects), despite a fall in sales.
Sales reached 10,273 million euros, down 3.2% on a comparable basis, proving the resilience of the group's business model, while the Covid-19 pandemic has affected all businesses and geographic areas.
"Air Liquide is confident in its ability to further increase its operating margin and to deliver net profit close to preceding year level, at constant exchange rates," said Benoît Potier, CEO of the industrial gas group.
