Air Liquide: signs new contracts with BASF in Belgium
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide and BASF announce that they have signed three new long-term contracts in the Antwerp basin (Belgium), an industrial basin where the French industrial gas group currently operates five production plants on the site.
On the one hand, this new 15-year agreement corresponds to the renewal of the air gas supply contract for existing units and, on the other hand, the supply of additional oxygen to a new ethylene oxide plant that BASF is due to build.
Air Liquide will also build and operate a denitrogenation unit to supply BASF with high purity gases for a more efficient production of MDI. Finally, it will buy a share of the methane from the BASF production process and use it as a raw material.
