Atos: Eviden chosen for Exascale supercomputer
(CercleFinance.com) - Atos has announced that a consortium comprising its Eviden business line and ParTec has signed a contract with EuroHPC JU to supply Europe's very first Exascale supercomputer, in a project with a total budget of around E500m.
Called JUPITER, this supercomputer will be operated by the Jülich research centre (Germany), to tackle the most demanding simulations and compute-intensive AI applications in science and industry.
Based on Eviden's BullSequana XH3000 architecture and supported by next-generation GPUs and CPUs from Nvidia and SiPearl, the system will be capable of exceeding the threshold of one billion billion calculations per second, while reducing energy consumption.
