Air France-KLM: improvement in Q2 operating profit

(CercleFinance.com) - Air France-KLM today announces Q2 net income group share of 80 million euros, down 30 million year-on-year, while operating profit rose by 54 million euros to 400 million euros.

The Franco-Dutch airline explains this improvement by a favourable comparison basis, due to the Air France strikes and by an improvement in unit costs, although this was partly offset by an increase in its fuel bill.

The group confirms that it will continue its initiatives to reduce unit costs, aiming to reduce costs by up to 1% at constant currencies and fuel prices in 2019. Its 2019 fuel bill is expected to increase by 550 million euros.
