Air France-KLM: not interested in takeover of Alitalia
(CercleFinance.com) - In a terse statement released this weekend, Air France-KLM states that it has not participated in the process launched by the Italian authorities for the acquisition of Alitalia.
Therefore, the Franco-Dutch carrier says that it has not had access to any confidential information and denies having filed an offer for the acquisition of the Italian airline company which is currently in financial difficulty.
Last week, the Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported that Alitalia could have incited interest from a consortium formed by Air France-KLM and easyJet, the low-cost British airline.
