Nokia: wins network upgrade deal in East Africa
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia today announced a two-year partnership to upgrade Liquid Telecom Kenya's existing fiber network with an initial capacity of 500G.
The network will support high-capacity connections from the submarine landing stations in Kenya, to major data-enters in Nairobi, Uganda and Rwanda, the Finnish company said.
The move comes at a time when mobile operators are preparing for 5G.
Nokia also said that it will power the campus network of the German research factory Arena 2036 in Stuttgart for the future of automotive manufacturing, providing full 5G coverage for the experimental plant.
