Siemens Gamesa: to lay off 2900 staff
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa announced on Monday its intention to cut nearly 2,900 jobs worldwide, equivalent to 11% of its total workforce of 26,000.
The wind turbine manufacturer says the job cuts will be made mainly in European countries, namely Denmark (800 jobs affected), Germany (300), Spain (475) and the UK (50).
Additional job cuts are planned in other countries around the world, the group said in a statement.
