Novo Nordisk: in research collaboration with Embark
(CercleFinance.com) - Denmark's Novo Nordisk has entered into a research collaboration agreement with Embark Biotech, a recent spin-out of the University of Copenhagen, to develop new treatments for obesity and metabolic pathologies.
The collaboration aims to develop novel drug candidates that help people with obesity lose weight by burning off excess energy instead of storing it as fat, the firms said.
As part of the deal, Embark will receive support for its research activities, while Novo will have an option to license exclusive worldwide rights to market products discovered in the collaboration.
