A. P. Moller-Maersk: surprise loss in Q2.

(CercleFinance.com) - A.
P. Moller Maersk has disappointed the market, with the group reporting a net loss of 264 million dollars for the second quarter of his fiscal year on Wednesday morning, against a profit of 507 million dollars expected by analysts.

The world leader in container shipping suffered from depreciation and the cyberattack last June, which disrupted its deliveries for several weeks and is expected to further weigh on its results this quarter.

The group estimated the cost of this cyberattack at between 200 million and 300 million dollars, which, despite this, recorded an 8% increase in revenues relative to April-June 2016 at 9.6 million dollars.

The group also confirmed its target of underlying earnings (operating profit excluding disposals, acquisitions and depreciation) in 2017 that are higher than in 2016.
