Porsche: takes stake in Group14 Technologies
(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday Porsche announced that it is taking a stake in Group14 Technologies, a US company specialising in silicon-carbon technology for lithium-ion batteries.
As lead investor, Porsche has raised 100 million dollars and is leading a Series C funding round in which several companies have invested a total of 400 million dollars.
Based in Washington State, Group14 Technologies intends to use the capital increase to accelerate its global production of anode material for lithium-ion batteries. Before the end of the year, Group14 is expected to lay the foundations of a battery active materials (BAM) production facility in the United States.
