Bayer: develops rice farming in India
(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer has presented a directly sown rice farming system with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption by up to 40%.
Bayer plans to expand direct-seeded rice to one million hectares, helping two million smallholder farmers and their families in India by 2030, expanding to the Philippines from 2024.
In India, 75% of the total rice area is expected to switch to direct-seeded rice practices by 2040.
