Bayer: issues jumbo bond to fund Monsanto acquisition
(CercleFinance.com) - German drugs and chemicals giant Bayer has issued a 15 billion dollar bond to secure long-term financing of the Monsanto acquisition, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
The placement, which comprises eight tranches with maturities between 2020 and 2048 is exclusively intended for international institutional investors, it said.
"It was approximately three times oversubscribed," Bayer said.
