Bayer: EU general court confirms verdict on neonicotinoid
(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer said on Thursday that it is "disappointed" with a verdict of the General Court of the European Union stating that neonicotinoid restrictions were "lawful".
The General Court of the European Union has ruled that the European Commission's decision of 2013, which restricted the use of certain neonicotinoids, was indeed lawful.
Bayer said it will review the verdict in detail and assess potential legal options.
While Bayer remains convinced of the safety of its products, the EU thinks neonicotinoids - now mostly produced by Bayer and Syngenta - pose a threat to bees.
