Lufthansa: in demand with renewed profit in 2022
(CercleFinance.com) - Lufthansa shares have taken off 6% in Frankfurt today, as the German airline unveiled significantly better results for the past year, with a net profit of 791 million euros against a loss of 2.
2 billion in 2021.
Despite cost inflation, its adjusted operating profit rose from -1.7 to +1.5 billion year on year, for revenues that have almost doubled (+95%) to 32.8 billion euros, against the backdrop of a clear recovery in demand for air travel.
For 2023, Lufthansa expects a further significant improvement in its adjusted operating result, with a seasonal loss in the first quarter, although a particularly strong performance in the following two quarters.
