Volkswagen: Q3 sales down in US
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen announced on Thursday evening that sales of its VW brand in the United States had fallen by 7.
6% in the third quarter, notably due to a drop in demand for the Jetta sedan and the Atlas, its large SUV.
Sales of Volkswagen of America thus totalled 86,446 units over the last three months, against 93,547 a year ago, the Wolfburg-based manufacturer said in a statement.
Over the first nine months of the year, sales of the VW brand in the United States fell by 16.8% to 231,454 vehicles.
However, Volkswagen points out that its sales in the United States increased in September, thanks to demand for its SUVs.
